Being around the house in business presents different problems and different opportunities depending on whether you are a young entrepreneur with family or an empty nester with the whole place to yourself. I might add, that as your host, my sixty plus years of living, when added to the experiences of my colleagues, can add some insight as well. Balance in life is critical to success and happiness. By combining both under the same physical roof, one of the risks is the loss of lifes balance. Being all consumed by business at the expense of family, health and relationships is one extreme. The other is to permit being distracted and involved in non-business related activities to the point of business neglect, mediocrity and failure. After all, isn't happiness why we made this decision? Neither extreme will achieve happiness. |
